Fashion designer Stella McCartney announced that she will launch an all-vegan menswear line for her Summer/Spring 2017 collection at an upcoming fashion week event. The designer is known for luxury women’s apparel but has decided to venture into men’s fashion, all without the use of animal products. While she does use wool and silk, McCartney has taken a strong stance against fur and leather and has created iconic pieces using alternate materials such as modacrylic and polyester blends. McCartney’s brand is dedicated to “being a responsible, honest, and modern company,” joining Vaute Couture, Bourgeois Boheme, and Brave Gentlemen in recreating fashion to serve consumer awareness regarding animal cruelty in the industry.
