Celebrity photographer/author Alexi Lubomirski was recently selected as the official photographer for the May 19 wedding of Prince Harry of Wales to actress Meghan Markle. Lubomirski posted the official notice of his selection to his Instagram account—where the vegan photographer frequently shares pro-vegan, trans-rights, and body-positive messages to promote inclusivity, and discourage cruelty, within the beauty industry. In January, Lubomirski shared that the country of Norway officially banned the sale of fur. “Bravo Norway,” Lubomirski posted, adding “Wearing fur is old, outdated, and cruel. Be young, modern, and cool instead,” before encouraging his followers to go vegan. English-born Lubomirski lives in Botswana—a place the royal couple visited while they were dating and where the diamond in Markle’s engagement ring is sourced. The photographer—whose previous clients include Julia Roberts, Reese Witherspoon, and Cate Blanchett—is also known as His Serene Highness Prince Alexi as he is a descendant of Polish royalty. “I could not be more thrilled or honored to photograph this historic occasion,” Lubomirski said. “Having taken Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”
