Warm up from the inside out with this gin-spiked, holiday cocktail from the Vegan Christmas cookbook. Swap the flavored syrup or citrus fruit add-ins with whatever you fancy.

What you need:

½ cup sugar
½ cup water
1 large orange, peeled and thinly sliced
1 large lemon, peeled and thinly sliced
1 grapefruit, peeled and thinly sliced
2 limes, peeled and thinly sliced
2 cups gin
6 cups tonic water
¾ cup orange syrup (found in most liquor stores)
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

What you do:

  1. For the sugar syrup, into a saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring to ensure sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. In a large bowl, place sliced oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and limes. Add sugar syrup, gin, tonic water, orange syrup, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  3. Fill eight glasses with ice, pour punch, and serve.
